The Big Green fell to St. Paul’s School with a final score of 38-40. Nancy Ferguson ‘24 was a leader on the court both offensively and defensively for the Big Green finishing with the night with 12 points. Charlotte Coody ‘26 put up 12 points to help the Big Green. Basketball (Girls): Varsity vs. Deerfield Tournament (12/15/23 2:00 PM)

The Big Green closed the Deerfield Holiday Tournament with a dominant 52-32 win against Lawrenceville. Charlotte Coody ‘26 led Deerfield with 16 points, followed by Zariah Hargrove ‘27 who tallied 15 points. Anna Dyjach ‘24 led the Big Green to success by dominating the defensive boards. Basketball (Girls): Varsity vs. Williston (01/17/24 2:30 PM)

The Big Green fell to the Williston Northampton School 36-41 on Wednesday, January 17. Charlotte Cody ‘26 stepped up for Deerfield in the second half with putbacks and defensive rebounds. Leading the defense Avery Izzo ‘24 sparked the Big Green to bring the team within 3 points in the fourth quarter. Deerfield will travel to Andover on Saturday, January 20 at 1:45 p.m. For hustle, for heart!

Hockey (Girls): Varsity vs. New Hampton (01/19/24 6:30 PM)

Deerfield Girls Varsity Hockey took the ice on Friday night at home against New Hampton. We had narrowly defeated them at the Cushing tournament, and knew that we would be in for a tight game. Deerfield Girls Varsity hockey headed to Pomfret on Wednesday afternoon to play for the Hastings Cup, which honors Brad Hastings, longtime DA faculty member and former Head of School at Pomfret. The Big Green fell to Northfield Mount Hermon tonight, 37-59. After a hard fought battle and trailing by 6 at the half, the Big Green couldn’t keep up with the NMH’s speed.
