Family Events

Important Dates

Please view the Main Calendar for the official and most up-to-date list of events, vacation start/end times, future year events, and more. You can view details for all Deerfield events here.

Note: For vacations and long weekends, students may not leave prior to their last regularly scheduled class, assessments, or cocurricular assignment; schedule changes should not be requested to accommodate travel plans. Dormitories close the day after school vacations begin, and all students should arrange to be off campus by that time. The only exception is Long Winter Weekend when all students must be off campus beginning on Thursday.

At the conclusion of vacations and long weekends, students must return to campus by 7:45 pm on:

  • October 8, 2024
  • December 2, 2024
  • January 5, 2025

Fall Family Weekend

October 4-6, 2024

Commencement

Sunday, May 26, 2024

Deerfield’s 225th Commencement was held on May 26, a beautiful spring day that saw the Class of 2024 recognized for their many accomplishments. Senior families were also recognized for their extraordinary generosity, and Dr. Austin was pleased to announce that the Main Dining Room in the new Dining Hall will be named in honor of “the Great Class of 2024!” We wish our new Deerfield alumni success and happiness in all their future endeavors.

For those who couldn’t attend in person or for those who want to relive the remarkable moments, Commencement 2024 is available for viewing online.

Spring Family Weekend

Spring Family Weekend took place on April 11-13, 2025.

Welcome Families!
The Parent Engagement Team welcomes you to Deerfield.

Come visit and explore the Parent Lounge in the Ephraim Williams house.

Relax and Recharge
The Parent Lounge is a place on campus where you can relax, meet fellow parents, have a cup of coffee to-go (or stay!).
All you need
It has an accessible restroom, a hydration station to refill your water bottle, access to a computer, the local newspaper, a place to recharge your phones, and is generally a quite respite for parents.
When is it open?
The Parent Lounge is open to parents throughout the school year

whenever our office is open

(Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-5:00 pm)

and over special weekends (Family Weekends, Choate Day etc.)
