The Deerfield Fund’s roots lie in the Academy’s first coordinated campaign for annual giving—launched more than 70 years ago. In those days, leaders described that first annual fund as a new “Living Endowment” whose unrestricted donations would allow the Academy to flourish even during times of national and global strain.
They knew then what we know now. Unrestricted annual dollars provide vital flexibility, allowing Deerfield to adapt to the changing needs of our students while maintaining enduring traditions.
Each year, the Deerfield Fund fuels roughly 10% of Deerfield’s operating budget. No other area of the Academy receives such broad and regular support, with gifts coming from alumni, current and past parents, grandparents, trustees, and friends of the school.
Such generosity provides a living legacy for what remains a living endowment: The Deerfield Fund, a new name for an enduring Deerfield tradition.
With that in mind and with deep appreciation for your loyalty, I ask you to make a gift to the Deerfield Fund. Joining the rest of our community, you will play a key role in powering Deerfield into the new school year.
Thank you!
Kellie Houston
