On a rainy Friday, Deerfield traveled just up the road to NMH, winning 3-0 with set scores of 25-12, 25-19, and 25-15.
The simultaneous JV match meant we needed to be clear and loud in our communication and Deerfield responded by getting right out to a strong start. Hitting from Evelyn Kunde ‘26 and Evie Mokarow ‘24 established a strong presence at the net while Sabina Frosk ‘24, Loran McGruder ‘24, and Zoe Galaburda ‘26 played excellent defense to allow setter Charlotte Coody ‘26 to run a strong offense.
In the second set, middles Harmoni Dobbins ‘26 and Sophie Kamil ‘26 had a number of good blocks as well as hits and outside hitter Georgia Ball ‘25 had a great stuff block to go with her hits. Margot McAuliffe ‘24 also stepped into the right-side position and had a nice block.
In the third set, Deerfield again took advantage of good serving to keep the pressure on the Hoggers and close out the match.
Thanks to NMH for hosting.
Deerfield is on the road again for a shorter trip on Wednesday, taking on Williston at 3:00pm.
