The Deerfield girls’ rowing team traveled to Methuen, MA to compete against Andover and Community Rowing, Inc (CRI) for their first race of the season. The weather provided fair racing conditions: warm temperatures and a light cross tailwind on the racecourse that kept the water flat. The Deerfield girls’ rowing team traveled to Saratoga Springs, NY to compete in the Saratoga Invitational. This two day regatta provided an opportunity for every member of the team to race, many of them for the first time this season! The racing on Saturday was 1500m long and included up to ten boats per race. The team’s 1V and 2V boats raced on Sunday over a distance of 2000m. The weather offered very challenging conditions

Deerfield Girls Hockey left campus right after classes on Friday afternoon to make the long trek down to Lawrenceville. A much needed dinner stop at the Krotee household was much appreciated; the team enjoyed a wonderful meal of salad, bread, meatballs and pasta. Hosting a NEPSGVA Class A quarterfinal match on Wednesday, #4-seeded Deerfield defeated a talented #5-seeded BB&N squad, 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-18). In the first set, the score opened and stayed tight until BB&N finally pushed out to a lead of 12-16 on strong serving and some errors from Deerfield. BB&N continued to build on that lead and had set point at 16-24 when a late rally from Deerfield (on serving from Evelyn Kunde ‘26)
