Vivian Jerry Palmieri, 85, of Jamestown, RI passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014. He was the loving husband of Lelia Dana Palmieri. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Vivian Joseph and Beatrice (Rhoades) Palmieri. Jerry attended the Deerfield preparatory school and Williams College. In 1950 he graduated with a degree in Economics. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. In 1963 he joined Franklin Templeton Investments and since 1965 he was the money manager of one of Franklin’s most successful fund, Franklin Growth. Jerry did things as well as he could do it, looking for perfection, different than everybody else, and he always did it his way. He was a man of great strength and integrity and exemplified all the qualities and dedication of the Greatest Generation. He loved living in Jamestown in his later years. His favorite spot was Beavertail Park where he spent many days walking his beloved dog Alba. He loved maintaining his beautiful gardens of thousands of tulips, daffodils and roses in Naragansett and Jamestown. A gathering and a celebration of his life will be held Thursday, April 10th at 3:00 p.m. in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield.
