I just ran into Mark Scandling walking along the Upper West Side of New York and it reminded me that I hadn’t written an update to Deerfield in quite some time. I am in my third year of a dual MD-PhD program at Cornell and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. I am using genetically engineered mouse models to better understand how colon cancer starts, and why some people respond to therapy while others do not. It seems like just yesterday I was studying biology with Dr. White – not much has changed! The research is thrilling, and I am very happy to be living and working in NYC. Best wishes to everyone for a Happy New Year!
