I’ve recently moved from the desert south of Tucson to the White Mountains of east central AZ.
In Sept., I enjoyed a tiring hike from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon down the North Kaibab Trail to Roaring Springs and back: 4.4 miles down 3300′ elev., and then back Up! 3 hrs. down but 5+hrs. back UP. Beautiful day and experience.
