The Rev. Guido Verbeck was recently honored by having the title “Rector Emeritus” conferred upon him by the vestry of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Shreveport, LA, for his 16 years of service as their Rector prior to his retirement. His name was also placed in the U.S. Army’s Field Artillery Officer Candidate School’s Hall of Valor for having been awarded the Bronze Star Medal with “V” device for “Heroism in ground combat in the Republic of Vietnam on 30 August 1968”. He continues to travel the country by RV, serve as Chaplain for the Shreveport Fire Department, and summer camp chaplain in the Adirondacks for the Boy Scouts of America.
