I am sorry to inform you of the death on April 19, 2023 of Alfred Loomis Hobart ’55. Al died peacefully at home in the company of his family after a long illness, but he skied and raced his sailboat until 2021.

The ski racing academy Al founded, Green Mountain Valley School, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in June. Sadly, he will miss that celebration, but at the celebration of his life on April 29 the Deerfield Evensong will be sung by the Mad River Chorale, a community chorus of which Al was a founding member of the bass section.
