Offering Thanks

Dear Deerfield Families:

It’s hard to believe that in just a couple of weeks the seniors will graduate, and we will all head off into summer. As we wind down another fantastic school year, I am writing to ask parents to join me in pausing to reflect and to say thank you. Our children have been positively impacted and supported by numerous individuals at Deerfield in countless ways. Without these caring and dedicated professionals, this school year would simply not have been possible.

No matter how we reach out, our children’s teachers, coaches, dorm parents, and other supportive adults in the community will surely appreciate hearing from us. Please consider:

  • Sending a handwritten note. There’s still something special about receiving a personal letter!
  • Sending an email. You can find all faculty and staff email addresses in DAinfo.
  • Giving them a quick call. So often we call with concerns about our kids—imagine the pleasant surprise if we just called to say thank you?
  • Taking the time to say thank you in person when you are moving your child out of the dorm.
On behalf of the entire Deerfield Parents Network Steering Committee, I would like to thank everyone for a great year! I hope you all have a relaxing and restful summer. I’d also like to wish the Class of 2023 and their families all the best as they move on from Deerfield. We will miss you tremendously and are grateful to have shared these special years with you!
