Summer CSGC Grant Update: The Style of Happiness

Nathan ’26 and Tyler ’26 offer free haircuts to make a positive impact in their community.

Goals:

By offering free haircuts to those facing financial hardship, Tyler and I, Nathan, wanted to make a positive impact in our community. Our goal was to relieve the economic burden of paying for haircut services, particularly for those who could not afford the expense in today’s economy. Regardless of their financial circumstances, everyone deserves to look and feel their best, so we provide services to help those in need and give back to the community.

How we plan to accomplish our goal:

To achieve our objective of helping those in need, we took the initiative to establish a free haircut clinic at a non-profit homeless center. This homeless center has been instrumental in saving the residents of the center hundreds of dollars that would have been spent on getting haircuts. Additionally, as part of our outreach efforts, we actively roam around our cities, offering complimentary haircuts to anyone who wishes to avail themselves of this service.

Our accomplishments so far:

After setting up our stations at The ReVive Center of Housing and Healing , the room became buzzing with activity as people eagerly awaited their haircuts. It didn’t take long for our chairs to fill up with clients. There was a vibrant and joyful atmosphere filled with smiles in the room as clippers buzzed and our voices sang old tunes.
