The Rising Scholars Program is a pre-orientation program that runs from August 22 – 26. Proctor orientation will begin midday on August 21. RSP introduces students to Deerfield’s academic, social, and cocurricular life and provides a select group of ninth- and new tenth-graders an early opportunity to experience living and learning at Deerfield. Participants will live in a dormitory, attend academic classes, participate in social activities designed to help them connect to faculty and student proctors, and learn about available resources as they transition into the many facets of Deerfield life.
Past participants often cite their relationships with proctors as one of the program’s most beneficial outcomes. We are looking for about 12 proctors, rising tenth-graders and juniors, to serve in this important role. The application is due by 10 pm on May 5.
