Ellie received her BA from Bates College with a double major in Spanish and Visual Art and a concentration in education in 2012 and her MA from Middlebury College in Spanish linguistics shortly after in 2013. Upon graduating from Bates, she was honored with the Gilbert-Townsend Fellowship, awarded to a senior of outstanding ability who plans to pursue graduate work in modern languages or literature. While working toward her MA, Ellie lived in Madrid, Spain and traveled throughout the country frequently. Following her time in Spain, she started working for Westminster School as a Spanish teacher, a dorm resident and a coach. Ellie came to Deerfield in 2015 and since then has taught Spanish, lived in the dorm, and coached both field hockey and lacrosse. She is one of the assistant coaches of the Varsity field hockey team and the head coach of the JV lacrosse team. She currently lives in New Dorm I with her husband, Sam Bicknell, and their Golden Retriever, Quito.
