IT Awareness – Antivirus/Antimalware change to CrowdStrike Falcon

Over the course of the next few weeks Deerfield Academy will be replacing our Antivirus/Antimalware platform from Sophos Anti-Virus with CrowdStrike Falcon Complete.

CrowdStrike Falcon Complete will go further to enhance Deerfield’s security on workstations and will remediate issues faster and more completely over a larger range of products than our current Sophos Antivirus.

This should happen in the background automatically as your machine gets its updates, and there should be nothing you need to do.

You may notice popups of CrowdStrike Falcon being installed and/or Sophos Antivirus being uninstalled this is expected, and nothing to worry about. The CrowdStrike Falcon icon may also show in your launchpad/start menu after it’s installed (red square with white falcon), depending on your settings.
