Champion is the newest opera by Terrence Blanchard, who is familiar to you as the composer of Fire Shut Up In My Bones if you attended last Fall’s Met Opera trip, or if you came to his jazz performance at Bombyx in Florence last Spring. Read more about the opera here. This trip is free and includes transportation, opera tickets, a boxed lunch and a restaurant dinner in NYC. Busses will leave at 8:00 am. The opera is at 1 pm. Dinner in NYC will follow, and we will return to campus in the evening. The trip is open to all, but given that space is limited, signups are on a first-come first-serve basis and priority is given to folks on last year’s waitlist and students enrolled in music classes or ensembles.
