This Wednesday at 6:30 pm in the Hess Large Aud (please note venue change) Dr. Hall, Professor of Philosophy at Harvard University, will speak with Deerfield students about different aims and strategies of arguing, focusing on the question of how to navigate controversial social and political issues. Please join us!
His guiding question will be: What important mental/emotional/interpersonal habits are essential for good critical thinking, beyond the familiar skills required for “good mental hygiene”? He will also talk about how to live peacefully and respectfully in the midst of deep disagreement about questions of value.
