Summer CSGC Grant Update: Providing Meals in The California Bay Area

This summer, through the help of the CSGC, I am redistributing excess food in the Bay Area. I am partnering with local restaurants and my local food bank to deliver leftover meals and ingredients. Restaurants must throw away perfectly good food due to regulations, so my plan is to collect the food that did not sell that day and drop it off at my local food bank.

Food insecurity is a deeply concerning issue in the San Francisco Bay Area. According to the San Francisco Department of Public Health, 1 in 4 SF residents face hunger due to low income. While I can not feed every hungry soul, I can do my best to make change in my own community. The project requires a lot of car time, so I am grateful for the Workman family for providing me with gas money. I am so excited to get started on this project!
