Summer CSGC Grant Update: Bracelets for Good: Give and Share Your Support

With the global pandemic slowing down in most places, many businesses and organizations are beginning to open up and transition into the pre-pandemic times. Similarly, many nonprofits, whose efforts to help their communities have been hampered by regulations, desire to regain their momentum and bring about positive change in the world.

Over the past month, I have been working with three organizations – Mālama Maunalua, Valor Global Foundation, and OpenHands – to host a fundraiser using bracelets. I created three bracelets, one for each organization, which people can buy to help solve a specific problem in the world. For example, the funds created by the sale of yellow bracelets for the Valor Global Foundation will go to support children’s education for a year in impoverished regions. I recently ordered 50 bracelets of each kind.

I am still finalizing the campaign for Mālama Maunalua, and we will meet on Zoom to discuss the logistics and specific issues the organization desires to spread awareness of through these bracelets.

I am also creating a website to help advertise the campaign and where people can directly purchase the bracelets. All the funds gained through the sale of the bracelets will be donated to the respective organizations.

I express sincere gratitude to the Workman family for providing funds to manufacture the bracelets and create a website through Squarespace. This is the first time I have worked with multiple organizations simultaneously, and I look forward to the results that this will bring.
