Swimming & Diving Place 2nd and 3rd in the NEPSSA Championships

Last weekend marked a spectacular New England Swimming & Diving Championship for the girls and boys swim teams. Notably, the boys were championship runners-up – an honor not achieved since 2016 – while the girls placed third! To view the final results, click here.

The boys 200 Freestyle Relay came in second place and qualified for All American, an honor marking a top 100 time in the nation. The boys who made up that relay include Totton Heffelfinger, Daniel Wareham, Vedran Gjivoje, and Will Hill. The boys 200 Medley relay also took second place and just missed the same All American recognition by a mere .01 second!  That squad was made up of Levi Tipton, Daniel Wareham, Giulio Migliarini, and Totton Heffelfinger.

Totton Heffelfinger took third place in both of his individual events – 50 Free and 100 Back. In boys diving, Forrest Gao took 2nd place overall!

The girls 4 Free Relay took third place. Those swimmers were Margot, Rachel, Lillian, and Alessia. Girl’s Captain Rachel Mark took third place in the 100 fly. First year Sophia Gao took second place in the 100 breaststroke and broke Deerfield’s record with the time of 1:05.22!!

Huge congrats to both teams on a wonderful, celebratory end to the 2022-2023 season!
