Sarah Groff True ’99 Competes in Rio Olympics

Sarah Groff True ’99 will represent the United States at the 31st Olympiad in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the women’s triathlon on August 20 at 10:00 am EST at Copacabana Beach.

This is Sarah’s second Olympic appearance. In 2012, she finished in fourth place and missed the bronze medal by ten seconds. At the conclusion of the 2015 World Triathlon Series season, Sarah was ranked third in the world.

At Deerfield, Sarah competed in cross-country, swimming, and cycling. After Deerfield, Sarah attended Middlebury College, graduating in 2004, where she was a member of the college’s varsity swimming team. In 2004, Sarah won the NESCAC 1,650m freestyle and was a member of the 800m freestyle relay that took bronze at the NCAA Championships.
