Last week, Deerfield teams participated in the One Love Foundation’s 2022 Move for Love event. Every co-curricular team or activity was encouraged to run, walk, hike or dance 5k (3.1 miles) and talk openly about cultivating healthy relationships.
The One Love Foundation is a non-profit organization that was established in 2010 to honor the memory of University of Virginia lacrosse player Yeardley Love who, just weeks before her graduation, was tragically beaten to death by her ex-boyfriend, a fellow student.
One Love’s purpose is to “educate young people about healthy and unhealthy relationships, empowering them to identify and avoid abuse and learn how to love better.”
By participating in One Love’s Move for Love event, the Deerfield community joined people from all across the country aiming to collectively move 1 million miles.
