On Saturday, the boys and girls varsity and JV lacrosse teams all earned home wins to secure a 4-0 Big Green lacrosse sweep. The boys varsity and JV lacrosse teams defeated Andover and the girls varsity and JV squads were victorious over Westminster. More impressive is that the four teams have done this for four consecutive game-days over the span of the past two weeks. Furthermore, their collective undefeated streak dates back to April 11th – almost three weeks. WOW!
Both the boys and girls varsity teams have been extending their winning streaks game-after-game. Currently, the boys varsity team winning streak sits at seven games which dates back to their first win of the season against Berkshire, 10-8, on April 4th. Their only season loss game in the season opener against Brunswick.
After dropping their first two games on off the season, each by a only a goal, the girls varsity lacrosse team’s season record is 6-2 as they extended their winning streak to six games with Saturday’s 15-6 win over Westminster.
The boys and girls JV teams also defeated Andover and Westminster respectively on Saturday. The girls JV lacrosse remains undefeated this season boasting a 6-0-1 record and the boys JV squad added another one to the win column on Saturday to extend streak to seven games.
Since, April 11th the four teams have amassed a 23-0-1 record and overall this season their collective record is 26-5-1 (.8125), they have netted a total of 273 goals while only conceding 138 goals, approximately a two to one ratio.
Up next are road games for Big Green lacrosse, boys varsity lacrosse will travel to Yale to tomorrow to play Lawrenceville in a neutral site game. Girls varsity and JV lacrosse will travel to Loomis to go head-to-head with the Pelicans. And, boys JV lacrosse will travel north to Cardigan for their second contest of the season.
