Girls Water Polo Finishes Season 3rd in New England

On Saturday, the girls water polo team traveled to Greenwich, CT to compete in the girls water polo “Liquid Four” New England Championship Tournament.  With Wednesday’s win, 7-5, over Andover in the play-in match, the team qualified for the championship tournament.  In the semifinals, the Big Green fell to defending New England champions, Greenwich Academy, 5-15.  The team rebounded in the consolation final to defeat Williston 9-5, and earn the title of third best team in New England for the 2018 season!

Against the Wildcats, the Big Green scored in every quarter and recorded a game-high four goals in the third quarter en route to their consolation final victory.  Nikita Pelletier ’20 and Maddie Clough ’20 led the way for the Big Green offense – Nikita netted four goals and Maddie recorded three goals.  Morgan Clough ’20 and Monet Meyer ’19 each scored a goal a piece.  In goal, Sydney Bluestein ’21 made ten saves and shut out Williston in the fourth quarter to help secure the win for the Big Green.
