Doors of the Week

Congratulations to our final spring 2021 Doors of the Week!

Varsity Baseball: Davis Cook ’21, Will Bowman ’21 & AJ Dichiara ’21

The Varsity boys baseball program is happy to name three seniors, Davis Cook, Will Bowman, and AJ DiChiara as our Doors of the Week. Davis, a four year varsity member, has been solid defensively at 3rd base all year and has been a force offensively with eight hits. Will and AJ, our managers, have gone above and beyond with their duties all spring. They have both been punctual and ready to help where needed every day.

Girls Varsity Rowing: 2021 Team

The Door of the Week for girls’ rowing is the entire 2021 team.  The challenges and obstacles that came with this year were significant, and we went into it with the hope that we could gain valuable experience and build for the years ahead. Instead, though, this season was so much more than that.  This team showed commitment, determination, and selflessness in spades, allowing us to become a squad that was more cohesive, more positive, and faster than we ever could have dreamed. We got so much better every day, incredibly bridging the gap from rusty/total novice to formidable racer in just a few weeks’ time. We were a most impressive team, each athlete sacrificing to ensure that her/their teammates could improve. And we had so much fun sharing laughs, smiles, and exciting racing along the way.  Thank you, DAGVC; your coaches could not be prouder of what we accomplished. Go Big Green!

Boys Varsity Tennis: Noah Depp ’21

Noah Depp has earned the boys varsity tennis DOTW nomination this week. In his final match on Saturday as a DA player, Noah played freely and confidently and won his doubles match (with brother Oscar) 8-3, followed by a 6-4, 6-2 win in singles. These wins were particularly satisfying as Noah had struggled recently, always finding himself competing against players who never made an error; Noah showed true grit this week!
