Deerfield Track & Field Records Fall

The track & field team has it’s sights set on writing their own history this spring; school records are regularly falling this season. To date this spring, four new school records have been set.

On Saturday, April 23, the boys track & field 4×100 Meter Relay team of Nick Peltekian ’22, Alex Haight ’22, Christian Reavis ’23 and Elic Ayomanor ’22 combined on a historic 42.64 second circuit of the track, smashing not only the existing school record of 43.455, set in 2021, but also the Hunt Relay meet record of 42.80, set by Berkshire Academy in 2013.

At this past Saturday’s tri-meet vs. Loomis and Hotchkiss, three additional school records were broken.

Kaelin Creagh ’24 set two school records in the 100 Meters and the 200 Meters. In the 100 Meter race, Kaelin crossed the finish line with a time of 12.59 seconds, breaking the 12.64 second record set by Cat Wyatt in 2013. Moreover, Kaelin improved her own record in the 200 Meters. Kaelin set the existing school record in the 200 Meters in 2021 with a time of 26.149. She continues to hold the record however, now with a faster time of 26.00 seconds.

Wedner Cadet ’22 added his name to the Deerfield record books by clearing 6’7” in the high jump, replacing the 2000 record of 6’6.75” set by Kali Gairy.

What impressive accomplishments! Congratulations, Nick, Alex, Christian, Elic, Kaelin, and Wedner!

Go Big Green!
