Sixteen Deerfield students recently wrapped up LEAD, the Academy’s leadership training program for student-athletes. LEAD aims to provide students with the skills and training necessary to effectively lead themselves, their teams, and their communities. Through self-reflection and case studies, students explore leadership styles and identify their personal strengths and areas of growth as leaders on campus.
This year’s LEAD curriculum included workshops about team culture, the power of positivity, athletic identity, and sport in society. At the conclusion of the course, each student prepared a presentation for the group about a leadership topic of their choice.
