Baseball Wraps Up Spring Training

The Deerfield Baseball team returned from Florida to participate in a two game prep school Jamboree at the New England Baseball Complex in Northborough, MA, Saturday and Sunday, March 25-26. The Big Green split its first two games against New England prep opponents. The squad dropped an 11-2 decision to Cheshire Academy on Saturday night, but rebounded with a solid 13-0 win over Middlesex School on Sunday. Senior Dylan Presnal pitched efficiently and well in shutting out Middlesex. Freshman Peter Marchese ‘20 caught a terrific game and contributed with several fine at bats. Javier Irizarry ’19 contributed several hits along with freshman Henry Gustavson ‘20.

The Big Green finished a demanding spring trip, playing 8 games between Florida and the prep jamboree. The squad is prepared to return to the routine of Deerfield’s academic and athletic schedule with the objective to continue to get better every day.
