Deerfield had their first home game against a strong Exeter team on Saturday. Within the first few minutes of the game, Kate MacKenzie ’24 found the back of the net on a terrific shot from the top of the circle. Exeter battled back though and ultimately tied the game 1-1 by the end of the first half. Deerfield regained the offensive momentum in the 3rd quarter and Lilly Oliver ‘26 scored twice (with Ella Davies ‘24 earning an assist) to go up 3-1. Exeter didn’t let up though and responded in the fourth quarter with their own goal to make it a close 3-2. However, Lauren Smith ’24 and Loulla Rousou ’25 did an outstanding job defensively and Bailey Miller ‘24 was superb in our midfield to seal the win. We look forward to traveling to NMH on Wednesday for our next game.
