It was a perfect fall day for a cross country meet, as the Deerfield cross country runners travelled to picturesque Concord, NH to race St. Paul’s School. Many of today’s harriers were running their first 5k of the season (or ever!), and the beautiful trails covered in dappled sunlight were a welcome sight after the long bus ride. The race got off to a fast start, with Alexis Miller ’24 and Lillian Auth ’24 leading the charge, and then multiple DA packs working together not far behind. The girls fought hard and it was a close race throughout, but St. Paul’s squeaked ahead at the finish to win 26-29. We are looking forward to next weekend when we will race Loomis and Choate at home during Fall Family Weekend. Here’s hoping for some similar weather!
