Deerfield Field Hockey traveled to Kimball Union Academy on Wednesday to play at 5 pm on their turf field. Within a minute and a half of the starting whistle, Deerfield found the back of KUA’s net for the first time. Meredith Heaney ’19 sent a ball to Sharon Kereke ‘19 in the circle and Kereke capitalized. The well-coached and aggressive team from KUA didn’t give up though, and while most play was in our offensive end, another goal did not come until 12 minutes later. Kereke scored, unassisted. The senior forward scored a third time during the second half for a hat-trick on the day. It was a solid 3-0 win for Deerfield! The girls will go back to work on Thursday to prepare for our upcoming Loomis game.
