The second half saw both teams come out strong and eager to score. Great passing opportunities by Sara Ito-Bagshaw ’21, Lauren Stenger ’22 and Willow Woodward ’22 in the midfield helped keep the momentum up. Deerfield turned up the intensity by a rally of shots. Kaitlyn Kelly ’22, Camille Glatt ’21, Sophia Hamlen ’22, Lizzie Eudy ’22 all put in strong efforts, but the Williston defense kept getting the ball out of the scoring circle. A fresh wave of attacking players went into the game to keep up the pressure on the Wildcat defense. Deerfield continue to put on pressure but couldn’t get the ball in the net. Finally, with 30 seconds left on the clock, DA earned one last penalty corner. Lisa Ito-Bagshaw sent the ball out to Maddie Boger who sent a bullet of a shot to the front of the net where, once again, Lisa was waiting to tip in the winning goal with 13 seconds remaining in the game. An exciting end to a great game!
