Deerfield offered a strong performance in Saturday’s home contest against Hotchkiss. The Big Green came out with strong, assertive play and created an 8-1 lead early in the first quarter. The Bearcats responded with a streak of their own by scoring 4 goals in the second quarter. Halftime arrived with DA in the lead by a score of 9-5. The 2nd half consisted of persistently strong execution from end line to end line as the Big Green offensive unit tallied another 9 goals, the draw team won the majority of draw battles, and the defense maintained their steady, unwavering presence. The captains named Hanna Deringer as the Give More player of the day for her 3 goals and leadership in pushing the compete-level of our offensive unit’s defensive ride.
