The Big Green girls JV soccer team kicked off the season with a comeback 1-1 tie. Even though Deerfield held strong possession of the ball throughout the game, Westminster went up 1-0 in the 33rd minute. The Big Green came back strong after allowing a goal against, and Ellia Chiang ’21 touched a beautiful ball just past the Westminster goalie into the bottom right corner of the net, tying up the game just before the half-time whistle.

Deerfield kept up the intensity into the second half, and continued to hold strong against the Westminster offense and defense. While the score remained unchanged, it was clear that the Big Green dominated the field for the remaining minutes.
