The Big Green played a tough match on Exeter’s turf on Saturday, and took a 0-3 loss that surely served as a catalyst for a successful season this Fall. Deerfield’s defense held strong for almost the duration of the first half, before allowing one goal in just before the midway whistle.
Deerfield started the second half looking much stronger than the first, however, Exeter’s offense amped it up a notch, and popped two more shots into the corner of the net. While these three goals against created an unideal final score for the Big Green, Captain and Defender Isabella Geraci’s ’19 tireless defense, and Goalkeeper Hanna Deringer’s ’20 amazing 12+ 1v1 saves throughout the match, proved all the potential Deerfield has, and will drive this team to give everything they’ve got at their next match against NMH this Wednesday.
