On Wednesday, Deerfield took on Westminster at home. The Big Green came out strong and were able to score early, with Mimi deflecting a shot from Meredith into the net. Westy battled back and evened out the score a few minutes later. The play was back and forth for the remainder of the half, but Deerfield did a good job maintaining possession and connecting well on their passes. Juliet was able to put Deerfield ahead again in the second half, with Ali and Meredith getting the assists. Westminster never gave up though and evened out the score again with five minutes left in the game. A corner was called in the last minute of the game in Westminster’s favor and they were ultimately able to capitalize, taking a 3-2 win over Deerfield. Overall, Deerfield played well so it was a very frustrating loss. We will go back to work tomorrow to prepare for Taft on Saturday. Go Big Green!
