DA Speech and Debate: World Championship Recap

Justin ’24 and Isaac ’24 traveled to Canberra, Australia, last week to compete in the 2024 World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships. They’d earned a place on the US Team through an outstanding regular season and international victories. Over five challenging days, Justin and Isaac both had a great tournament, each making the semi-finals. Justin broke through to the finals in two events: impromptu speaking and parliamentary debating. He beat out 120 of the world’s best to win the world championship in impromptu speaking—DA’s unprecedented second consecutive world championship in that event! Congrats to Justin and Isaac for a great showing!
