In the depths of a long, dark winter, don’t we all need to enjoy a little chuckle here and a rib-tickle there? Fools by comedy king Neil Simon offers just that. In an idyllic European town in the 1890s, the townsfolk have been cursed with chronic stupidity for over two hundred years. Our hero, Leon Tolchinsky, an earnest and bright young teacher arrives to teach the town doctor’s daughter. When he falls in love with her, will there be enough time for him to break the curse before he, too, is struck dumb?
As this is a comedy with a large cast, we expect the tickets to go fast, so please note that we are opening up the Monday night final dress rehearsal to an audience. Come and see lots of new faces on stage, as well as some of our more experienced actors as you have never seen them before.
