The Deerfield Peer Counselors are comprised of 16 juniors and seniors dedicated to the well-being of the student body. Peer Counselors are trained to actively support students navigating a range of challenges, such as stress management, maintaining healthy relationships, and substance use. Peer Counselors also serve as critical liaisons between struggling students and professional support within the Health Center. The Peer Counselors are trained and supported by Health Teacher Ms. DiNardo and the Director of Counseling Counselor Daily.
Applications for new Peer Counselors are open to all tenth graders and are due on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. New Peer Counselors are required to attend weekly training throughout the spring of their second year and have weekly responsibilities throughout their junior and Senior years. After you’ve completed the application, you may be invited to an interview scheduled after we return from Spring Break. Training begins on Thursday, March 30, in the evening and continues weekly on Fridays during community time through the end of term.
