Deerfield Academy Shinny Hockey Wins!

On Sunday, December 3, the Deerfield Academy Shinny – the adult hockey team – defeated the correctional officers from Berkshire, Franklin and Hampshire County in an entertaining match that brought the players on the benches, and the crowd, to their feet.
Coach Brooke Fernandez was named game MVP, securing that title with a dangerous but calculated head-down, toe-drag, I-don’t-care-I-am-going-to-do-this snipe. Husband Jay Anctil was there. Thank you to Cole Higgins ’26 and Emmett Aho ’27 who served as officials for the game, and Coach Drew Philie who filled the water bottles.
