Two For One Theater Auditions! Save the Date(s)!

Here is the breakdown:

Sunday afternoon, November 12. Vocal auditions: Each student will sing a short song of their choice with live piano accompaniment. (Please email your sheet music to Ms. Wei ASAP. She will be your accompanist.) Sing a musical theater song that is relatively modern (1970s-now in the style of Alice by Heart). You will also perform a short monologue of your choice, no more than 2 minutes in length. Show as much emotional range as possible. If you are only auditioning for the Spring show, you need only prepare a monologue. If you are auditioning for the musical, read on.

Monday, November 13, 3:30-4:30 or 4:30-5:30 Movement auditions for the musical, two groups of any level to accommodate scheduling conflicts.

Tuesday, November 14, vocal callbacks of show material for soloists and harmony assessment with live accompaniment by appointment between 3:30 – 5:30 pm.

Wednesday, November 15, acting callbacks with sides from the musical, by appointment, in the window of 1:30 – 5:30 pm.

About the musical:

From the Tony® and Grammy® award-winning creators of Spring Awakening, Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik, and co-written by Jessie Nelson (Waitress), Alice by Heart is a touching musical inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

In the rubble of the London Blitz of World War II, Alice Spencer’s budding teen life is turned upside down, and she and her dear friend Alfred are forced to take shelter in an underground tube station. When the ailing Alfred is quarantined, Alice encourages him to escape with her into their cherished book and journey down the rabbit hole to Wonderland.

As they travel through the tale, Alice by Heart explores the poignancy of first love, coming to terms with loss, and finding the courage to move forward. This world-premiere musical encourages us to celebrate the transformational power of the imagination, even in the harshest times.

Anyone interested in auditioning for the winter musical is highly encouraged to sign up for voice lessons this year. Sign up here.
In your lessons, you can prepare for auditions and learn your music once you’re cast in the show. It’s a great way to grow your skills and get some personal help in the process! Interested students can reach out to Dr. Pfitzer, Mrs. Clark, and Mr. Bergeron for more details.
