As many of us know, raising awareness around mental health issues and suicide is more important than ever. News headlines across the country have been reporting on an emerging teenage mental health crisis, with steadily rising rates of anxiety, depression, and suicide among young people over the past decade and a half. Suicide has a real and devastating impact on young communities like ours, and we hope the Out of the Darkness Walk will serve as a space to show up in solidarity and reflection.
Join Active Minds in walking a 5k or a distance of your choice around the track on Saturday at 9:00 pm. By showing up, we’re demonstrating our commitment not only to caring for each other and helping each other through dark times, but also to continuing to educate ourselves and raise awareness. Candles will be provided.
