We will be hosting the 6th annual Deerfield Math Competition this Saturday at Koch.
The competition is organized and run by members of the Deerfield Academy Math Club. We hope to offer a close-to-home opportunity for middle school students to experience STEM and to compete in mathematics. Participating in the DMC is a fun way for students to get involved in math while surrounded by their peers in a challenging, yet rewarding environment. Many members of the Deerfield Academy Math Club are math competition veterans, whose ongoing interest in mathematics, logic and reasoning, or problem-solving was inspired by similar contests. The difficulty of problems ranges from introductory fourth grade mathematics, to American Mathematics Competition (AMC), and to up to AIME-level problems.
The competition schedule is as follows:
10 am – 10:15 am Opening Ceremony in the Garonzik
10:15 – 11:00 am Individual Theme
11: 15 – 12:00 am Individual Relay
12:00 – 12:50 pm Lunch in Koch Starfied
