Open to students, faculty, and staff, the Deerfield Orchestra rehearses on Tuesday evenings in the Concert Hall, directed by Mr. Bergeron. We have an exciting year planned for the long-anticipated return of our orchestra. This Fall, we’ll be performing Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker for a production with the Deerfield Dance Program. In February, we’ll be collaborating with the Deerfield Chorus for a program conducted by Dr. Pfitzer, and in the Spring we’ll feature the winners of the Senior Concerto Competition and travel to Six Flags New England to compete in the Music In The Parks program. All string players are welcome. Winds, brass, percussion, and keyboard participation will be repertoire-dependent.
The Orchestra rehearses on Tuesday evenings after sit-down, 7 – 8:30 pm. Ninth- and tenth-graders will be allowed to return to study hall promptly after the end of rehearsal. Our first rehearsal will be on Tuesday September 7. It’s important that every musician is present at every rehearsal.
