Four Deerfield Students Win the Peacemaker Award

We are proud to announce that four students from the class of 2021—Jing He, Thomas Lyons, Jason Hutchinson, and Juliette Lowe—have been selected for the Peacemaker Award.  The students were honored at an online program on May 27,  and each honoree received a certificate and small monetary award.  The award, founded in 2000 by the Interfaith Council of Franklin County and Traprock Center for Peace and Justice, recognizes students “for their contributions to well-being, non-violence and justice in (their) communities.” From creating a tutoring nonprofit company to addressing identity-based harassment through education to helping to feed community members during the pandemic to encouraging peers towards civic engagement our Deerfield winners have made positive impacts in their communities and are well deserving of this honor.

Congratulations to all the winners!
