R.J. is a native to Charlotte, NC, and currently a Teaching Assistant at Deerfield Academy. Although education was not in his purview, he was ecstatic to join Deerfield’s faculty in the fall. This year, he has worn many hats for the Academy including interviewing students for admissions, coaching girls varsity basketball, substitute teaching Math and Economics, and serving on administrative task forces.
Before returning to Deerfield, R.J. graduated from Williams College with a B.A. in Economics. At Williams, he was a member of the men’s varsity rowing team, president and treasurer of the Society of the Griffins, and active member of the Berkshire County NAACP Branch. Passionate about all things finance and economics, R.J. was recently selected to be a speaker for Williams’ Financial Literacy Panel. He has also held internships in research at a hedge fund and an investment consultancy.
As a student at Deerfield, R.J. enjoyed his roles as a Senior Proctor, Captain of the Track & Field Team, Student Council Class Representative, Cheerleader, and Big Brother. He is looking forward to the conversation on The Door to Door Podcast.
