Help Support Student Mental Health At Deerfield!

The Deerfield Academy Counseling Center is a critical point of contact for many of our students. Each year nearly 40% of the student body meets with a Deerfield counselor at least once.

It is essential to our mission and our ability to provide effective support that every member of our student body knows that they will feel comfortable, safe, and seen when they meet with a counselor. We strive to assure that all students feel supported by the Counseling Center and that the care we provide is positive and affirming to every student, especially to students who identify as BIPOC and/or as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. To help us ensure that the Counseling Center’s services are reliably safe, inclusive, and responsive, we are forming a Counseling Center Student Advisory Board so that we can regularly hear direct feedback from students and generate ideas related to community interaction. The Advisory Board will meet monthly, with a focus on having conversations about mental health needs on campus and creating opportunities for greater campus engagement.

If you are interested in being a part of this Advisory Board, please email Dr. Relin.

Warmly,
Dr. Relin, Ms. Owens, Ms. Rosenthal, and Dr. Watson
