For those of you who don’t know, the peer tutoring program is a student run organization in which student peer tutors are “on duty” Sunday-Thursday nights throughout the school year to help other students with concepts ranging from STEM, Language, Humanities, etc. While upholding and representing Deerfield’s Academic Integrity Policy, peer tutors do not complete assignments for other students, rather, they are qualified resources to help answer questions, guide understanding, and teach concepts.
This year, the program will look quite different: instead of available tutors in the Crowe Commons or Boyden Library, the group of four or five “on duty” tutors will be accessible via Zoom Sunday-Thursday nights between 7:45-9:45. Instead of two locations, one group will be for the first hour and another the second hour. The program will start Wednesday September 16.
This link, which is accessible to the whole school, includes Zoom links for each night and the Head Peer Tutor in charge, should you have any questions. Instead of walking to the Crowe or library, this is the new way to access available tutors. These Zoom links will remain the same through November.
If you would like to request one on one or group tutoring via Zoom (whether for a one time meeting or recurring), please fill out this form so a schedule can be made and tutors in that discipline contacted. Please feel free to email peertutors@deerfield.edu with any further questions or to set up a meeting outside of normal duty times.
We hope to see you soon.
Best,
The Head Peer Tutors
