Important Schedule Information for Winter Term

For the first week of classes (1/4 to 1/8), when students are off-campus and learning remotely, we will follow our new Daily Schedule. More information about the Special Schedule that we will follow for the second week of the term – when the majority of students are on-campus learning remotely – will be forthcoming by January.

Introducing the New Daily Schedule for Winter Term

The new Daily Schedule details the timing of the academic day. You’ll notice three things about this schedule that differ from the fall:

  • Rather than having nine sub-groups and nine different start times, we now have only two groups – River & Valley.
  • Second period courses do not have an assigned group because all of these courses will now meet at the same time.
  • We have added a new “Y-Block.” Y-Blocks are designated meeting times for different groups, designed to help minimize scheduling challenges. Y-Blocks differ from X-Blocks because the vast majority of students are not in academic classes at that time; at the same time as X-Blocks, approximately half of students are in academic classes.

Please use the “Assigned Groups” document to determine your course’s morning group. The document is sorted alphabetically by course title. Once you find your course’s group, you can look at the Daily Schedule to find the start time assigned to your group to determine your schedule.
