Ninth and Tenth graders share a highlight of their Journeys course experience
“I am really enjoying my D- Term Journey of Becoming a Global Leader thus far. One of my recent highlights includes learning about the difficult journeys guest speakers have taken and impactful ways in which they have persevered throughout their life and committed themselves to giving back to their community. Hearing Mr. Joshua Ariga speak this Wednesday allowed me to realize the value behind seeing each task as an opportunity as well as being open minded to new experiences and connections. I also enjoyed learning about the strong bond he holds between his personal and leadership journey.” – Isabella Casillas ‘24 (Becoming a Global Leader Course)
“So far I’ve had a lot of fun in class. It’s very interactive and I like my teachers. the homework is interesting and engaging. This class has helped me separate necessary items and things I don’t need that I can substitute for non-single use plastics.” – Thayer Newton ‘24 (Deep Dive: Marine Conservation in the 21st Century)
“My journey of Becoming a Global Leader has been going great. There were speakers talking about their own experiences and they inspired me in many different aspects. Something I learned from their speeches was that don’t be afraid to take action, try new things and have experiences, embrace contradiction and take criticism as generosity. I don’t considered myself as a confident person and I hope to gain confidence through this course and to speak out loud the things hidden inside. I’m really looking forward to the three remaining classes I have next week!” – Sunny Nie ’23 (Becoming a Global Leader Course)
